We will pick you up from Ankara hotel about 5:30 am and we will drive to Cappadocia
The journey from Ankara to Cappadocia covers a distance of 310km / 192 miles and will take approximately 3.20 hours, including stop-off breaks for stretching your legs and getting refreshments. We will make a stop at Salt Lake for a coffee break. Salt Lake is Turkey's second-largest lake in terms of surface area and meets 70% of Turkey's salt needs.
After arriving in Cappadocia, we will embark on a Cappadocia Red Tour. Our tour will commence at Devrent Valley, where you can witness numerous unique rock formations and small fairy chimneys, creating a lunar landscape with their peculiar appearance. Following a brief stroll through this remarkable valley, our tour will proceed to Pasabagi (Monk's Valley), home to the most striking fairy chimneys in Cappadocia, featuring twin and triple rock caps. These distinct mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys are exclusive to Cappadocia. After exploring Pasabagi, we will travel to Avanos, renowned for its pottery craft dating back to the Hittite period. The red clay, derived from the sediment of Turkey's longest river, the Kizilirmak, is used for this pottery. At one of the pottery shops, you can observe a pottery-making demonstration or even try your hand at it. We will pause our tour for lunch at a local restaurant to savor various Turkish dishes. Following lunch, we will head to the Goreme Open Air Museum, where churches, chapels, and monasteries carved into the fairy chimneys from the 10th to 13th centuries A.D. are the main attractions, adorned with frescoes painted on the walls. You will have the opportunity to capture these moments with photographs to cherish in the future. End of the tour you will be transferred to your hotel.
